We are very excited that two new titles in our De Gruyter's series Chronoi: Time, Time Awareness, Time Management are finally out! Peter N. Singer’s “Time for the Ancients: Measurement, Theory, Experience” offers an overview of experiences, theories and conceptions of time in the Graeco-Roman world through medical approaches and medical sources. Thomas L. Gertzen’s “But Time Fears the Pyramids: Scholarly Disciplines of the Ancient Near East and the Temporal Dimension of Cultural History” (in German) explores the development from a "biblical chronology" to historiography which is based on natural science and historical evidence through several case studies in the history of science.
