Minds and Moments

State of Consciousness related to Timing

Our approach to the study of timing casts a wide net of phenomena that might relate to the psychology of timing and attempts to draw connections that will help further our knowledge and understanding of how the brain and the cognitive system perceive the passage of time. The test case investigated in the Exploration (engaging Yoel Gordon) investigates altered states of consciousness as those relate to timing. Minds and Moments, an interdisciplinary workshop organised at the Einstein Center Chronoi, will bring together experts in the fields of cognition and timing, broadly defined. The Minds and Moments research activity will bring together researchers who use other test cases, such as temporality in language, the motor system, and brain organization. This collaborative approach will foster a comparative discussion that will effectively facilitate the development of a theoretical framework on the neural basis of time perception.
